General information and conditions:

1. Privileges within the City Service:

  1. These items are covered by the usual allowance i.e. Dearness Allowance (DA), Rent Allowance (HRA), Transportation Allowance (TA), etc. which is allowed for Central Government employees and applies to CSIR. Utility workers are also eligible for CSIR-eligible accommodation, subject to availability, in which case HRA will not be acceptable.
  2. In addition to the salaries listed in the positions, benefits such as medical allowances, travel reimbursement, and a home construction advance are provided in accordance with CSIR standards.

2. Other conditions:

  1. The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  2. All candidates must meet the essential requirements of the position and other conditions specified in the advertisement. Before applying, it is recommended that they ensure that they have at least the basic qualifications required for the various positions on the last day of online application acceptance. The required basic qualifications are minimal and the mere possession of these qualifications does not entitle candidates to be called up for the examination.   12. Candidates will not receive a TA/DA for appearing for an exam.

Relax

  1. The upper age limit is relaxed to 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC pursuant to Government of India Regulations applicable only in cases where positions are reserved for the relevant categories, upon presentation of the appropriate certificate in the specified format signed by the relevant authority.
  2. The EWS reservation service can be used upon presentation of a certificate of income and assets issued by the competent authority in accordance with DoPT O.M. NO. 36039/1/2019-Estt(Res) dated January 31, 2019. A certificate of income and assets issued by certain authorities in the specified format is only accepted as proof of the applicant's EWS affiliation.
  3. The upper age limit is also relaxed to 05 years for permanent employees working in CSIR laboratories/institutes, government departments, autonomous bodies and public sector enterprises in accordance with CSIR/GOI guidelines.
  4. Under the provisions of the DAI, the relaxation of the age for widows, divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands, the upper age limit may be relaxed to 35 years (to 40 years for members of the scheduled caste and to 38 years for members belonging to other backward classes in with regard to positions reserved for them) for widows, divorced women and women who have been legally separated from their husbands and who have not remarried. Persons claiming an age reduction under this paragraph should submit the following supporting documents.
  1. In the case of a widow, the husband's death certificate with a statement that she has not remarried since then.
  2. For divorced women and women who have been legally separated from their husbands, a certified copy of the decision/judgment of the competent court to prove the fact of divorce or separation, as the case may be, along with a statement from the divorced women and they have not remarried since .
  1. Age Reduction for Persons with Reference Disability (PWD): Age Reduction by 10 years {15 years for Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST) and 13 years for other Backward Class Candidates (OBC) as per rules} above age The limit is acceptable for people with the following disabilities in accordance with the DAI guidelines:

(i) blindness and low vision;

(ii) gluhi to gluhi;

(iii) mobility disabilities, including cerebral palsy, cured leprosy, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and muscular dystrophy;

(iv) autism, intellectual disability, special learning disabilities and mental illnesses;

(v) multiple disabilities among persons referred to in points (a) to (d), including deafblindness.

Persons claiming an age reduction under this subsection should provide certification in the required form in support of their claim clearly showing that the degree of physical disability is 40% or greater. In any case, the appointment of such candidates will be conditional on their health in accordance with the health standards set by the government for each position.

  1. SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD applicants should attach a copy of the relevant certificate in the required format signed by the competent authority together with the paper version of the application. The OBC candidate should present a certificate authorizing him/her to be appointed to positions in the central administration. The format of these certificates recommended by the Government of India is also available on the Institute's website.
  2. Waivers of age, over the limit, education and/or experience may be considered for candidates of high merit or if there are not likely to be enough candidates with the required qualifications and/or experience to fill the above positions.
  3. Relaxation of the upper age limit of 5 years for persons permanently resident in Kashmir in the J&K district of the state for the period from 01.01.1980. until December 31, 1989 on production of a certificate from the Kashmir Division District Judge in whose jurisdiction he was habitually resident, or from any other authority appointed on his behalf by the J&K Government stating that he was an ordinary resident of J&K v. Kashmir Division during the period 01-01 -1980 to 31-12-1989.
  4. Ex-combatant concessions will also apply under CSIR/GoI.
  5. Appointments for reserved positions will be provisional and subject to caste certification verification through appropriate channels. If the verification shows that the applicant's claim to be a SC/ST/OBC/EWS is false, his/her services will be terminated without further cause and subject to any further action that may be taken under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code for issuing a false certificate.
  6. All of the above age relaxations are not exhaustive. Please refer to Government of India/CSIR Orders for details on age leniency.

Selection process

Selection will be based on an industry/aptitude test followed by a written competitive test. The final merit list will be drawn up based on the candidate's performance in the written competitive examination. There would be no job interviews. The details of the conduct of this "Professional Examination/Aptitude Test" and the program of the written examination, etc. will be published later.

The mere completion of professional training and experience does not entitle the candidate to be called for an examination. The duly constituted selection panel will adopt its own selection criteria for candidates. Therefore, the candidate should provide in the application all qualifications and experience in the relevant field above the minimum required, together with supporting documents.

  1. In the event of a large number of applications, CSIR-CMERI may adopt selection criteria to limit the number of candidates who will be called for the test to a reasonable number by one or more of the following methods:
  1. On the basis of higher qualifications than the minimum specified in the advertisement.
  2. Based on more experience in the field than the minimum specified in the advertisement.
  3. Any other methodology deemed appropriate by the Audit Committee.
  1. In the event of an insufficient response from candidates for a given position or positions, the Institute's decision to cancel the position or positions will be final and binding on the candidates.
  2. Verification of candidates will be prima facie based on the documents and information submitted by the candidates. If at any later date it is found that candidates do not meet the eligibility criteria, their candidacy will be canceled without giving any reason.
  3. Whenever a given discipline/discipline is indicated as the main qualification criterion for a given position, candidates must support their claims in this regard with valid evidence. In the event that the requested field/discipline is not listed in the candidate's evaluation sheet and/or in the title/diploma awarded by a given university, the decision of the Admissions Committee on the acceptance or rejection of applications will be final and binding for the candidates.
  4. Any further updates regarding the selection procedure and other relevant information will be published exclusively on the Institute's website www.cmeri.res.in. As such, all interested parties are advised to stay in touch with the website and follow the relevant instructions.

application process

  1. Eligible candidates must apply ONLINE through our website www.cmeri.res.in. No other application method will be considered.
  2. Candidates are advised to read the instructions for completing the online application form carefully.
  3. The online application will be available at CSIR-CMERI cmeri.res.in. (Ends 12/20/2021 at 17:00) It is mandatory to print out the successfully submitted online application, sign it and attach the mandatory self-certified documents {As mentioned in no. 6, as the case may be}. The printout of the application along with the relevant documents should reach CSIR-CMERI by December 31, 2021 at the latest.
  4. Non-refundable application fee of Rs. 100/- (one hundred) only when applicable can be deposited online through the State Bank of India (SBI) Collect website which is linked from the Institute website and in hard copy e-receipt of the same must be attached to the application. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OSD/ex-soldiers/women/CSIR employees/otherwise eligible candidates but residing abroad are exempt from the application fee. The fee should be paid on the last date of online application, i.e. December 20, 2021. The Institute will not consider any fee received after the above deadline, and the candidacies of such candidates will not be considered.
  5. The candidate must upload the most recent scanned passport photos (maximum size 150 KB) in the specified location in the online application.
  6. In the case of universities/institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA etc., candidates are required to convert them into percentages based on the formula applicable at their university/institute. Candidates enter their details in the appropriate place in the online application when submitting it.
  7. Candidates should keep a copy of the application form and payment details, if any, for their records. The application printout and payment details will not be available after 5pm. the last day for submitting online applications, i.e. December 20, 2021
  8. Once submitted, the application is not withdrawn, and the fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be kept as a reserve for another recruitment or selection process.
  9. The Institute will not consider any changes/edits to the application after the final submission of the online application.
  10. Only one application from each applicant per postcode will be considered. IF MULTIPLE ONLINE APPLICATIONS ARE SUBMITTED FOR ONE ZIP CODE WITH DIFFERENT REGISTRATION NUMBERS AND/OR DIFFERENT EMAIL IDENTIFIERS, ONLY THE HIGHEST FEE APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED.
