Senior Project Manager

Join a professional program and project management (PPM) team in our Cork or Dublin office, providing project and program management services to our clients. This customer-facing role includes managing the supply of materials provided by both Arup and other professional companies. The role will include:

  • Managing the effective and efficient delivery of orders, managing the work of the technical team consisting of internal and external project team resources, in full compliance with the requirements of the Arup Management System (AMS).
  • Management of stakeholders and expectations and customer relations.
  • Delivering work to high standards of customer satisfaction and cost efficiency for Arup.
  • Mentoring of PPM support staff.
  • Searching for new customers, identifying opportunities with existing and new customers, developing customer relationships and managing large deals.
  • Development of new service offers.
  • Gaining new jobs and clients.

People specifications - technical/experience

  • High level and experienced professional project manager, preferably (but not required) with technical background with clear development potential.
  • At least a first degree and an authorized qualification in engineering, construction or related fields (or relevant equivalent qualifications).
  • Internationally accredited project management qualifications such as IPMA, APM PQ or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in project management in the form of effectively leading teams in the design and/or construction of construction and/or infrastructure programs/projects.
  • Several years of experience in construction supervision or construction management will be an advantage.
  • Experience in project implementation from the client's project management perspective. The value of the project should be at least EUR 50 million in construction costs or > EUR 100 million in the case of a work programme.
  • Proven track record of working closely with the design team to develop and deliver the best design solution to meet customer requirements.
  • Evidence of consistent achievement and career development in managing infrastructure projects and programs supported by references.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure market regulations.
  • Experience in business development in the field of consulting services in infrastructure markets.
  • Good knowledge of industry developments and players.
  • Good commercial and contract knowledge.
  • Experience in managing construction contracts.
  • Strong skills and experience in managing customer and stakeholder relationships.

  • It defines the schedule for each important work phase.

  • Ensures that the project meets the customer's requirements.
  • Escalates problems as needed.

  • Manages processes related to costing, budgeting and cost control.
  • Manages the change control process.

  • Monitors the progress of the Contractor and the implementation of the program.
